Boris Johnson to appear in Eastenders
20 Jul 2009
Boris Johnson is to make a guest appearance on EastEnders.
The London Mayor and Barbara Windsor, who plays the Queen Vic's fiery landlady Peggy Mitchell, are all smiles here but have a run-in at the Albert Square pub in their scene in the BBC soap, to be shown this autumn. Mr Johnson said he was “honoured” to appear.

Dear Boris,
Could you please inform us why you are not doing your job as your voters would wish? Instead, why are you bumbling around with some boring BBC soap opera?
Regards.
PS. Can you confirm that you and Babs are in fact wearing wigs?

Babs: Evenin' squire, leave your bike outside, what can I get you?
Bozza: Pint of foaming nut-brown ale my good woman!
Babs: Coming right up sir, don't often get toffs in these parts, I suppose you have a taxi waiting outside?
Bozza: Cripes! Lumme! Gadzooks!
Babs: Still, I guess you can claim it all on expenses, like the hundred thousand pounds Londoners have paid toward your mortgage?
Bozza: Hang on! That's not in the script! Cripes!

Good to see the Prime Minister-in-waiting getting down with the people and engaging with them at their level.
