Man survives 140ft bridge fall

A man who plunged 140 feet from a river bridge has survived with just a slight neck injury.
Lifeboat crews scoured the River Orwell in Suffolk after a passer-by called 999 saying they had seen a man on the bridge near Ipswich.
They found the man, who has not been named, alive in the river. He was taken to hospital with a slight neck injury and hypothermia. Scott Wiltshire, of Harwich lifeboat team, said: "We are usually prepared to find a body in those circumstances.
"We were surprised to find someone waving. There is slim to no chance of surviving such a fall."
