Six people were arrested in dawn raids today following a vicious attack on a train passenger which left him in a life-threatening coma.

The arrests were made in Tottenham by British Transport Police which is investigating the assault on Michael Ogbuehi.

Mr Ogbuehi, from Chalkwell, Essex, was travelling by train from Southend with his heavily pregnant girlfriend when the unprovoked attack took place on 29 May. After the assault, the 20-year-old began to suffer from severe headaches. He was admitted to hospital and is now in a coma. His condition is described as critical.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack which took place between 9.40pm and 10pm.

Detective Superintendent Ashley Croft said: "We are doing all we can to support Michael's loved ones during this agonising time."
