Homes evacuated as 'severe' fire engulfs recycling plant
Ben Bailey22 Jul 2009
Up to 80 people have been evacuated from their homes after a "severe" fire broke out overnight at a recycling plant, emergency crews said this morning.
The blaze began on Western Way in Moxley, Walsall, West Midlands, shortly before 4am and fire fighters cordoned off the area due to the presence of a large quantity of asbestos at the site.
Police evacuated residents while 15 fire engines and 16 fire fighters tackled the flames.

Sorry Michael but a motorway accident is very different to a company that stores waste and asbestos in an unsafe manner next to a residential area. The Buncefield explosion will be one of the rare times that people who have suffered loss will be compensated but they have waited years for for it.

Ah, the compensation culture. How about compensation for those of us caught up in 4 hours delay due to a motorway accident?

80 peole evacuated but I understand that in the event of a fire like this they will get no compensation for the disruption caused to them.
