Peter Andre sues Katie Price

Peter Andre is taking legal action over comments made by his estranged wife Katie Price on TV today.

The latest twist in the couple's disintegrating relationship came after the model appeared on GMTV to promote her new book.

Price, aka Jordan, had been pushed over whether her husband had been faithful during their marriage.

She said: "As far as I know I think he was faithful."

Andre has always insisted no one else was involved in the demise of his marriage.

In his column for New! magazine, written shortly after the split, Andre said: "I can hold my head up high and say I've been 100% faithful throughout my marriage and still am. And any reports suggesting otherwise are totally hurtful and false."

The singer's lawyer confirmed today that he was taking action over the comments.

Price split with Andre earlier this year and is currently drumming up publicity for her latest novel Sapphire.

During a whirl of interviews she has already revealed she had a miscarriage just weeks before the couple gave up on their marriage.

This afternoon Price was launching her novel Sapphire at London store Selfridges.

She said: It's my 32nd book I've got out so I'm really proud. It's a good read, a good summer read like all my others."

Price, who has two children with Andre and a son from her relationship with Dwight Yorke, added: "I've got a style book coming out in October and even if you can't read it's a good book, it's got lots of pictures."

I think sueing Kate is going a little far, as pete has always said he doesnt want the children to be ashamed of things that happened after he and kate split up, hardly think they would be proud of that. I think pete is still reeling from the split especially with kate 'moving on' so soon. I think they need to sit down and talk about how they can make this work in the childrens favour, the bad press on both sides is doing more harm than good. I think pete is a top man and extremely brave. Just hope the can call a truce soon maybe their be in the papers soon with good press xxx

Both would have contributed to the split, so I will not comment on that; but post-split I am with K Price's approach. She is honest and exudes positive thinking, which I find very refreshing. Andre comes across as bitter, and frustrated at K's freedom and strength. He is being reactive, rather than just focusing on his own things - getting photographed with the children, etc.
He likes to be portrayed as the good guy in all this, but his real self comes out in his comments, such as "Unfortunately I cannot control what Kate says". Control being the operative word.
And sueing Kate for making such ordinary comments - what else can she say except "as far as she knows" he was loyal? That is all any of us can know. She did not say she had any doubts. It is just true, what she says. And yet she is entitled to have her doubts. Again, that is a human right that perhaps Andre would not care for - he seems to have a very ancient mind set where the woman should be controlled and should consider her husband, even her ex-husband a saint and capable of no wrong.
My view: GO KATE! All strength to you, lovely girl.

I use to like Katie Price but after seeing how she treated Peter on their show I think she's a bully & a bitter spiteful person. He loved her that was very clear to everybody but the way she spoke to him & how she treated their son Junior (pretending to eat his pet snail then calling him stupid for crying) I wish Pete all the best & I don't blame him for suing her, she knows the public have turned on her & that its her own fault her marriage failed. She's out for sympathy by making out she's little miss perfect (after her antics in Ibiza) nasty bit of work I think

To be quire honest Peter and Katie want to grow up and sit round a table and talk all this sueing is absolutly sick, I dont think for one minute either are really thinking about their children, its all media hype and money motivated. If they lived on an estate they would find it hard to make ends meat and have a job to even get a desent solicitor
