Russia to get first taste of new Brit Art

The Saatchi Gallery is joining forces with the State Heritage Museum in St Petersburg to present a new generation of British artists to Russia.

The three-month show will open this October and include rising stars such as former Turner Prize nominee Goshka Macuga and Toby Ziegler.

London will host an expanded version of the exhibition, called Newspeak: British Art Now, next year.

Coming more than a decade after Sensation! at the Royal Academy showcased the Young British Artists led by Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas and the Chapman brothers, the new exhibition should provide a snapshot of what is happening on the London art scene now.

Newspeak: British Art Now will open at the Saatchi Gallery in King's Road, Chelsea, next summer and run until January 2011.
