Lembit Opik does it again - MP unveils his latest glamorous girlfriend

28 Jul 2009

Lembit Opik, the unlikely Lothario of Westminster, has struck again.

Fresh from the debris of his relationship with Cheeky Girl Gabriela Irimia, the 44-year-old Lib-Dem MP has his arm around another lissom young woman — 21-year-old former Wonderbra model Katie Green.

The eccentric MP reportedly met Miss Green at a party three weeks ago. Opik split from Irimia in June last year.

"She's charming, unpretentious, interesting and engaging", Opik said in an interview with Closer magazine.

Meanwhile, Miss Green appears chuffed with her new man.

"I have always liked an older man and it's refreshing that he sees me as intelligent", she said.

"Lembit's very charming and witty. I can see why Gabriela [Irimia] found him attractive."

Miss Green, who is 5ft 10in and a size 12, models for Ultimo after leaving Wonderbra.

He was also previously engaged to weather girl Sian Lloyd.

Weathergirl to cheekgirl to wondergirl - bit of a theme running there - what this man needs is a woman and not a girl. Its so amazing to see what these women actually see in him - he must have one large wonga!

Blinking 'eck that's the best one yet, and I was quite partial to Sian in her day and smitten by Gabriela. I have every confidence that I think Katie is much more intelligent that Opik does.

Mark, he's not just an elected representative - he's an Honourable Member!

Roz - that's the funniest thing I've read in ages!! And yes now you mention it I can see the resemblance! Also have to agree with Mark - not the best role model for an elected representative. Why do his constituents continue to vote for him? Surely they want someone half decent to represent them?

Well he's punching well above his weight. Wonderful role model as well, chasing models and appearing in tabloid newspapers. Just what I want from an elected representative.....

He's always seemed a bit 'flaky', but to give him credit he must have something the ladies like.
