A police worker has found an innovative exercise regime: running the length of the Underground.

Sam Upton, left, a 26-year-old Met intelligence analyst, has decided to take on the 249-mile network, line by line above ground, to prepare for next year's London Marathon - and have fun.

Joined by friend Stuart Leslie, he takes photos of every station he passes. So far they have visited 50 of the 270 stations. They advertise their mission, "The London Runderground", on Facebook, inviting friends and members of the public to join them. It is raising money for the British Heart Foundation. The runs are usually held monthly.
