Absolute fantastic. It would be great if we could form regimets with historic ties to the colonial past. It would create the continuing historical heritage of our armed forces

Jay47, "Sikhs have always had a proud link to serving in the British Armed Forces since World War1..." The Sikhs have fought along side the British in many countries long before the WW1.ie in Afghanistan after the fall of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. From the"Drum, africa's leading magazine" of March 1966. The article titled " War Of Sikhs And Askaris" during the WW1, it says Quote " ...And it was the Sikhs who brought the British their victory" unquote. Here we are talking of British East Africa(Kenya) and German East Africa(Tanganyika).Lance Corporal Sarvjit Singh and Signaller Simeranjit Singh have done all the Sikhs proud here in UK and abroad.I wish them all the best in their new life in Army. Wish more Sikh youth would now come forward and join the British Army,Navy, and Air Force.

Sikhs have always had a proud link to serving in the British Armed Forces since World War 1 it is great to see these two guys in full uniform ready to defend the Queen with their lives. This is a great sign of the continuing legacy that the Sikh Soldier Spirit invokes to motivate Sikhs to serve Queen & Country. There was talk about a Sikh Regiment a year or two back and all was going well until the plan was rejected by the racial equality lot.If however that did not happen Britian would have had its own Sikh Regiment just like in World War 1 & 2.If in the future the plans go ahead I have no doubt in my mind that the Sikhs will serve in more numbers and will serve and protect Britain along with HM the Queen and her Subjects

Sanjay is quite right in what he says.
There are others who would do well to follow the example of these fine gentlemen.

Wonderful to see!

Sikhs have a hard-working attitude. They have integrated well into the British system. Well deserved.

Well done boys...

Well we can't say that Britain is not multi-cultral with equal opportunities at all levels.....I know,I know - I'm cearly very optomistic, give 'them' 5 minutes and there'll be questions asked in 'low' and high places whether turban wearing guards should be 'protecting' the Queen!
