Greek balls of fire for Briton
Paul Anast, in Athens6 Aug 2009
A Greek woman has become a national hero after setting fire to the genitals of a drunken Briton who allegedly tried to sexually assault her.
The woman, 26, who has not been named, turned herself in to be tried for her "right to self-defence" after the episode in a bar at Mallia, Crete.
The woman, from the island, is facing charges of causing bodily injuries and of endangering private property.
The Briton is in a private clinic in Heraklion, the capital, with second degree burns to his testicles and penis. Reports said he started waving his genitals at the woman before demanding she touch them. After he refused to stop she poured Sambucca over him and set it on fire.
