Tributes were paid today to a young composer who died after falling into a river after a night out with friends.

Ivan Reshetilov, 23, was reported missing when he failed to return home and his body was seen in the Colne in Colchester on Friday. The Moscow-born musician moved to the UK in 1995 where he took up piano. He was about to start his fourth year at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich.

His girlfriend, Lucy Smith, 21, of Longfield in Kent, said: "Ivan was the most warm, loving person who had time for everybody. His passion and zest for life were reflected in his music."

WhatEhat distressing news. Ivan was an inspiring young man. Rarely does one meet genuine goodwill, sincerity, intelligence and charisma in a person of his young age, all qualities of Ivan's personality that will be sorey missed.
