Murdered: Harry Potter actor Rob Knox

Harry Potter actor's family backs witnesses chaity

27 Aug 2009

The parents of murdered Harry Potter actor Rob Knox will today present a £1,000 cheque to a charity that supports victims, witnesses and their families.

Colin and Sally Knox want to thank the staff and volunteers who helped them through the Old Bailey trial of their son's killer Karl Bishop earlier this year.

They will return to the court today to hand over the donation to the Witness Service, which is run by the charity Victim Support.

The service, which last year helped 47,000 witnesses going through court in London, is also calling for more volunteers to give their time.

Mr Knox said: "We want to make sure this great work continues to help more families affected by crime."

Rob Knox's parents are to hand over money from the memorial fund set up in his name after he was stabbed five times in Sidcup, Kent in May last year.

The 18-year-old played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and had just completed filming when he was killed.

Bishop, 22, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 20 years after he was found guilty of murder in March this year.

Victims Support is run by a charity. The scum are supported from tax payers money. Not a perverse society at all Labour.
