Rolls-Royce man admits dangerous driving
28 Aug 2009A 50-year-old man pleaded guilty today to dangerous driving after his Rolls Royce car crashed into the front of a supermarket.
Robert Caton, of Cusden Drive, Andover, Hampshire, also pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court to a charge of failing to provide a specimen.
But he entered a not guilty plea to a charge of criminal damage while being reckless as to whether life was being endangered, which was accepted by the prosecution.
Six women suffered cuts and bruising when Caton drove his Silver Spirit luxury car through the window of a Tesco supermarket in River Way, Andover, on May 20.
The case was adjourned for sentencing on September 25 and Caton was remanded in custody until then.
Judge Keith Cutler asked for pre-sentence reports to be prepared by the probation service on Caton.
