Two Londoners were killed and a girl, aged two, was left critically injured when a car went on to the wrong side of a busy bypass in Surrey and collided with oncoming traffic.

A 27-year-old woman from the capital died when her Ford Focus crossed the central reservation and struck a Peugeot 307 on the A322 Lightwater bypass near Bagshot yesterday afternoon. The injured girl was in the car with her.

The Peugeot driver, a 59-year-old man from London, died at the scene.

One passenger, a Woking woman in her fifties, died in hospital and another, a woman, 58, from London, is in intensive care at Frimley Park Hospital.

Another driver, aged 63, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
