Raffle guarantees million-pound winner each week

EuroMillions lottery players will have an extra chance to become millionaires with the launch of a new raffle, it was announced today.
The "Millionaire Raffle" will guarantee a million-pound winner every week, Camelot said.
The addition of the must-be-won raffle to the EuroMillions mega-jackpot game means players will automatically be entered into a UK-only million-pound draw.
The first £2 tickets for entry into both the EuroMillions draw and Millionaire Raffle will go on sale on November 7 with the first "double draw" to be held on Friday November 13.
Players will receive a unique raffle number printed on their ticket for each line of EuroMillions they enter, with one winning raffle number drawn every Friday.
Camelot chief executive Dianne Thompson said: "Since we launched EuroMillions in 2004 it has really captured the public's imagination, creating big multimillion-pound winners and offering more prize tiers than any other National Lottery draw-based game - as well as boosting returns to the good causes in the UK. Raffles are already popular with people across the UK, and in other lotteries around the world.
"With the new Millionaire Raffle we want to offer the best of both worlds - making EuroMillions even more exciting for our players by giving them another opportunity to win big by creating a guaranteed UK millionaire every single week!"
The overall odds of wining any EuroMillions prize are one in 24.
The odds of winning the raffle will depend on the number of entries but are expected to average out at about one in six million.
In the year to March 31 total National Lottery sales reached £5,149.1 million, the best sales performance in a decade, with £1,377.6 million going to good causes.
Camelot will spend £3 million advertising the new raffle.

I admire the fact that £3million pounds will be spent on advertising this raffle I just wonder of a small amount can be spent on telling me where the results are. I expected to find it on page 122 of teletext but I was disapointed.

I wonder if this price rise has anything to do with the weak pound to euro exchange rate.

It's just another way for camelot to boost it's coffers at the expense of gullible people.I'll only start playing the lottery when the money is invested more wisely and not on ART issues or sport issues. The NHS is on it's knees and people are dying through waiting for ops and suffering. I'm sick of seeing another arty farty project being given funds which only a few benefit from.

Interesting. I was wondering what Camelot would do given that no one in the UK has won a Euromillions jackpot since we started it.
