Women aged 35-45 are 'most content'

4 Sep 2009

Most women aged between 35 and 45 are content with their life, often believing they were in their prime after enjoying the biggest experiences such as marriage and childbirth, according to new research today.

A survey of 1,000 women by the John Lewis Partnership found six out of 10 believed they were "wiser and more knowledgeable" than ever before.

Most said it was the time of life when they were best placed to identify with younger and older women, adding that the top way to spend their time was with their children, or alone with their partner.

The report, to mark the launch of John Lewis's new customer magazine, identified a new generation of women, called SWAGs - sassy, wise and grown-up.

But Ted, they are just as equal to us when it matters to them, and show the "red" card when it suits. Women of this age should be happy because their blokes pay for everything. But don't tell the missus.
