London rapper Dizzee Rascal will headline this year's BBC Electric Proms.

The 24-year-old from Bow joins a line-up which will include American soul legend Smokey Robinson, Florence and the Machine, Metronomy and Doves.

Dizzee will perform tracks from his new album, Tongue N'Cheek, as well as his No1 hits Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers, backed by a live band and a 16-piece string orchestra for the first time. Smokey Robinson will play Motown classics as well as new material with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Jimi Goodwin, frontman of the Doves who will be backed by the 40-strong London Bulgarian Choir, said: "It is brilliant to get the chance to play the songs differently for the Roundhouse audience. It is going to be really special."

The Electric Proms are at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm from 20 to 24 October. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
