Call for E.coli inquiry as 37th victim falls ill

Another child has been struck down with the E.coli bug, bringing the total of people affected by an outbreak on a petting farm to 37.

Of these, 13 are children who are being treated in hospital, including two-year-old twins Todd and Aaron Furnell and toddler Alfie Weaver who became seriously ill after a visit to Godstone Farm in Surrey.

The Conservatives have called for an independent inquiry amid fears that tens of thousands of children could have been exposed to the bug since it was first identified.
