Accountant fails to widen £40m case

A tribunal has rejected an accountant's attempt to expand her record £40million race discrimination case against a City firm by alleging her treatment also left her disabled.

Mihaela Popa, 31, of Hampstead, is suing PricewaterhouseCoopers. The Romanian tried to add claims of sex, age and disability discrimination, the last of which related to her depression after leaving the firm and which, she said, left her unable to find work.

The Central London employment tribunal ruled against the submission, though it added: "The claimant has done nothing to suggest her allegations of race discrimination are anything other than strong."
