'Racist Yard' boycott stays
Felix Allen25 Sep 2009
Boris Johnson's move to end a rebellion by black and Asian officers who say Scotland Yard is racist appeared today to have failed.
The Metropolitan Black Police Association said his inquiry panel's interim findings were too weak, and it would continue to urge those from ethnic minorities not to join a Met likely to "persecute" them for their race or faith.

Am I alone in my suspicions that this sounds like a subversive plot to undermine the officiency of the Met, or am I just being paranoid? Maybe we have heard the "race card" played just once too often.

Boris's plan failed because, predictable, his panel was a weak, biased and partisan approach to the problem. Once again Boris, the man with an extremely dodgy history of racist utterances who had to sack one aide who suggested blacks go home if they don't like Boris's policies, proves himself incapable of high office.

Is there such a thing as the Metropolitan White Police Association, or would creating a sub-category of police association that excludes anyone who does not come from a particular ethnic group be viewed as intrinsically racist?
