An inquiry has begun into how a prisoner obtained drugs and two mobile phones after attending a London police station.
The criminal was found with the items on his return to Wormwood Scrubs prison after being taken to Hounslow police station for questioning.
Three Metropolitan Police constables who were holding him are being questioned. The matter was reported to Met corruption officers by prison staff.
Investigators will examine whether the prisoner managed to acquire the drugs and the phones at the station or whether officers guarding him stopped on the way back to prison.
Deborah Glass, of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, said: "This investigation is looking at how the prisoner was supervised."
