My Fair Lady star Stanley Holloway has been commemorated with an English Heritage blue plaque in Manor Park.
The actor, star of the Broadway, West End and 1964 film versions of the musical, and of the classic Brief Encounter, was born at the house in Albany Road in 1890. His plaque is only the second in Newham.

I´m with Andrew of Hampton Hill. This is long overdue. Stanley Holloway was a great actor and entertainer in his day, but now, sadly, he seems almost forgotten.
