The world's top 50 universities

University College London has risen above Oxford in this year's world university rankings, it was announced today.

The university climbed to fourth place, below America's prestigious Havard university - which took the top spot - Cambridge, at second, and Yale university, in the United States, at third. Its ascent pushed Oxford back into fifth position.

The rankings have been published by the Times Higher Education Magazine and the research was conducted and compiled by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

English speaking counties maybe, but I assure you English is a minority language at Imperial... :)

Isn't it a bit odd that only English speaking countries are represented in the top 19? No bias, then.
