A bus driver was injured today when his vehicle ploughed into a house after a collision with two cars in Battersea.
The number 137 bus was travelling along Queentown Road to Streatham Hill just after 2pm when it collided with the cars and ended up in the front of the three-storey terrace house.
The driver was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries while three other adults and a child required treatment for shock.
It is not known whether they are passengers or were inside the house at the time of the crash.
Three fire engines and around 20 firefighters attended the scene to make the house safe.
Builder Andy Barber, 33, from West Hampstead who was working nearby said: “I was working around the corner at the time when I heard a loud bang. When I arrived at the scene, there were a string of ambulances and police everywhere.
“There's a few walking wounded and there seems to be a lot of panic at the front end of the bus.”
A Met Police spokesman said only the bus driver needed hospital treatment and no serious injuries were reported.
Queenstown Road was closed off this afternoon while engineers worked at the scene to assess the damage to the house.

No news about the kid running around shooting people round the corner at the same time?

There was also a shooting on the wandsworth road, this is why the roads not directly near this accident were closed for so long too. The police don't just do things willy nilly, theres always a reason if you stop to look for it.

I live in broughton street and couldn't get out of this, they closed wandsworth road due to a shooting.
- London - Battersea, ..
I was stuck in this chaos, so perhaps somebody from the police can explain why they closed Wandsworth Road at the same time?
The bus route were left in chaos and Wandsworth road was - even by 6.00pm - closed even further back - as far as the junction for Stockwell bus garage. At that late hour buses were still being diverted via Clapham High Street.
What the hell were the emergency services doing closing roads over a mile away?

Judging from the photo, the street is very narrow. Usually speed limits are lower on narrow streets, and the slower a vehicle is going the less its going to be pushed out of the traffic lane in a collision.
So, just how FAST was this bus going???
