Scotland Yard investigates ‘officer’ testing gear

Scotland Yard is investigating four YouTube clips showing what appears to be an officer in riot gear being shot at by friends for a joke.

In the footage, apparently filmed on a mobile phone, a man, above right, wearing the type of uniform issued to Territorial Support Group officers, is shot at by two men as they all laugh.

One, with an Australian accent, uses the “4.5mm gas-powered BB” metal pellet gun on a beer bottle before shooting his friend, who says: “This is what it does to a member of the Met.”

Asked if he felt anything he adds: “Didn't do f*** all.” The blond man, above left, then dresses in the gear before the man thought to be an officer shoots at him.

The Directorate of Professional Standards is determining whether the clip involves an officer. If so he faces disciplinary action and assault charges.

That's quite funny. I can see why they are laughing. Go up against a proper gangster and you haven't got a chance with one of them guns. Arm the cops properly (but teach them to maim not kill).

Interesting that they are talking about assault charges as the officer is consenting to be shot at. Shades of a rugby player consenting to have his lip cut by a doctor to fake an injury.
