Fry pleads to save drug Briton in China

Stephen Fry today called on China to spare a "mentally ill" London man who faces death after allegedly being caught with 4kg of heroin in a suitcase.
It is thought Akmal Shaikh, 53, who is said to suffer from bipolar disorder and delusional psychosis, was duped by heroin traffickers into carrying the drug , which was worth £250,000, two years ago.
Fry, who has bipolar disorder, is campaigning to save the father-of-three from Kentish Town. Mr Shaikh's brother Akbar said: "Akmal would not knowingly carry drugs."
