Fox News is wing of Republican party, says White House

The White House is in a war of words with Rupert Murdoch's Fox News channel over "biased" coverage of the Obama administration.
White House communications director Anita Dunn said the broadcaster is a "wing of the Republican party" and when President Barack Obama appears on it "he's going on to debate the opposition".
Ms Dunn also told rival channel CNN: "They take their opposition research, put it on air. Let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."
Fox News accused the White House of confusing the channel's commentators with news reporters. It is the only major TV network not to carry a recent presidential press conference. Glenn Beck, a Fox News commentator whose show is watched by two million, has accused the President of being a racist with a hatred of white people.

If only we had a Fox News Channel in the UK to counter BBC and Channel 4 bias!

CNN's owner Time Warner is so owned by Saudis and far from being political correct! No other network is so Islam and Middle East friend like CNN! And have you ever watched Situation room with Blitzer? That not way Democratic? Seriously!

Like CNN is not a wing of the democratic party? Give me a break!

If some of Fox News supporters above have a moment for cool refelection, I suggest they consider truthfully whether what Murdoch achieved in this country ie: privitizing sport for nothing more than personal enrichment is now good for this country and people in the street.
For ex. look how many pensioners who fought for this contry in WWII could afford to watch their national team playing our national game football last week.
Murdoch is a self centred meglomaniac, so do not be surprised that he is now trying to run the US via the White House destabilisation. People like him never know when to stop.

It is very important to note that "Fox News" is an entertainment channel and NOT a news channel. As a result the likes of Glenn Beck et al are not newsreaders or broadcasters in the normal sense of the word, they are pundits or entertainers. Simply imagine them with clown noses and then you truly have "Reality TV". Substitute the name with "Faux News" and it about sums it up.
Were in not for the fact that so many people have this 'news' channel as their sole source of 'news' and you start to get a picture of how bad the propaganda (which is what it is) actually is. The lies and sound bites thrown out are unbelievable but are the basis for a lot of the beliefs of many regions of America.
Truly, truly, bad and evil.

I'm not left wing by any stretch of the imagination but Fox News is really something else, it is detached from reality to put it politely.

...and let's nt forget that Sky News and The Sun are sisters of Fox. Insidious, vulgar and simply vile.

I do not understand Rupert Murdoch and his right wing ideology that he peddles via Fox. He is an Australian married to a Chinese lady, his daughter was married to a mixed race man from Ghana and some of his grandkids are mixed. His family are multi-cultural but he wants to spread such prejudice and hate.

...and of course there are no news media giants expressing support for the Democrats (or, for the benefit of Nabil H, the Labour party in the UK), are there. This garbage coming from the White House is standard fare these days - little substance in what you're doing? Smear opposing views (that's always good for a hoorah moment for the Democrat faithful - especially when you can't answer the opposition's comments with real world common sense responses).
...cue someone whose higher functions switch off at the mere mention of the Fox channel to use my words, flipped, to argue rather than thinking of an intelligent reply.

I am so glad that finally an US government takes on FOX News. Who ever has seen any of their broadcasts does know that they are not just biased. It's more than that. They have their own agenda, distorting the truth in their way. It is not just time, but overdue, that somebody stops FOX News to brainwash people. It is time to educate people in the US. Well done Obama administration! While they are not perfect, they do their best to create a better America, despite that opposition.

Typical left wing whinger; if a media outlet agrees with you and boosts your image uncritically, like CNN and NBC does with Obama, then they are a news network and if they are, quite rightly, critical, as Fox are, then they are the enemy and not a news network.
What is it abut the left that makes them so unable to accept valid criticism?
