48 hours to avert Royal Mail chaos

13 Oct 2009

National postal strikes are set to be announced on Thursday.

Postal union chiefs have offered Royal Mail a 48-hour last chance to avoid a series of UK-wide strikes.

The Communications Workers Union wants Royal Mail to "step back" from imposing massive changes across the industry - a condition the company is unlikely to accept. Strikes could take place from Friday next week.

The union has destroyed Royal Mail? I think you'll find its Royal Mail management that are the cause with their bully boy tactics. They should negotiate not dictate. Striking is a last resort but I am 100% behind this! Sack one of Britains highest paid chief executives Adam Crozier. Who says failure isn't rewarded?

Until the union is broken, the mail will be broken.

Whew! That'll be twice as long as for the NHS.

It seems very odd that a Government, seemingly desperate to kick-start the economy, can sit on the sidelines and allow even more disrupton to the Nation's dwindling postal services. This will be the final straw for small businesses - inevitably more will shut down. I cannot help wondering if Monsewer Mandy is playing yet another game - goodbye Royal Mail, Hello Deutsch Post !

The strikes must be averted at all costs. the outcome of the strikes will cost a million times more damage than the claims that have been made. It will be fall of a once great nation believe you me.

both sides are acting like kids in a playground. This needs to be resolved now, small businesses cannot afford the strike to continue. The local strikes since June are really hurting at a time when we are trying to survive the recession
