Nicole Kidman blames films for violence

Nicole Kidman at a US congressional panel where she criticised Hollywood for contributing to violence against women by portraying them as sex objects.

When asked whether the movie industry has “played a bad role”, Kidman, goodwill ambassador for the UN Development Fund for Women, said “probably”.

Until a few years ago Nicole was quite happy to pose nearly naked in her publicity shots, portraying herself in "come hither" shots. They objectify women as well and she set a bad role model for the sake of her publicity.

When I hear my kids reciting TV adds word for word I defy anyone to tell me that what they see does not influence them. Once I heard my 6 year old telling me to buy ABC laundry detergent because it was "new and improved", TV was restricted- a lot.

Definitely, not probably! It is not normal to witness the kind of violence portrayed. The more you see, the less you are shocked, the more violent they make it too shock you. Life mimics Art.
