Abuse: Vanessa George revealed the identity of victims “to get lighter sentence”

Nursery paedophile 'has started to name some of her child victims'

Detectives were today in talks with lawyers representing a nursery worker who abused young children amid claims that she has finally named some of her victims.

Vanessa George, 39, who worked at Little Ted's Nursery in Plymouth, is said to have identified up to 10 of the youngsters she abused.

The confession was made in custody and senior detectives are now examining the claims, according to reports.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were investigating whether any of George's victims could be positively identified. A spokeswoman for the force said: "As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary are involved in a dialogue with George's defence counsel, and the question of victim identification is part of that."

George's lawyer, Geoff Parlby, would not comment, a spokeswoman for his Plymouth-based law firm said.

George, from Plymouth, will be sentenced at Bristol crown court next month after pleading guilty to charges of indecent assault, taking indecent photos and distributing photos of children. Co-defendants Colin Blanchard, 39, from Rochdale, and Angela Allen, also 39, from Nottingham, have also admitted several sex offences.

The trio are said to have met on Facebook but police still do not know how they found each other.

In transcripts of police interviews, George admitted her crimes were "vile" and "disgusting", but refused to name any of the children. After her guilty plea this month, Mr Justice Royce urged her to reveal the identities.

A least the parents of the carers of the children who may have been abused by this IDENTIFIED child abuser know that the abuser has been removed.
Many carers who report the seen abuse of children don't have that security.
They have to sit and watch whilst so called child protection measures are in play which often don't work and often leave the IDENTIFIED abusers in situ with their victims, as in the cases like that of baby Peter!
Spare a thought for the IDENTIFIED being abused children who are said to be being 'monitored' but who are nevertheless being enabled (some would say aided) to be further violated, maimed and tormented by their IDENTIFIED abusers.

This evil specimin turns my stomach. The death penalty is the only way. Why should we pay to lock IT up for 30 years? We're struggling to educate our children and keep the NHS afloat and our hard earned taxes instead go towards putting IT (and others like IT i.e. Ian Huntley, Baby P's Mother, Rose West) a cushy life full of luxuries behind bars. Vile.

Less subjectiveness and more practicality please Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms/whaterever Ancient Wisdom! Lock her up and throw away the key is sufficient. Paying attention to what she looks like means you're giving her attention she doesn't merit. Such a mistake in human evolution should simply be put in a locked room and forgotten.

Ancient Wisdom, you are wrong, even an angry pig can look appealing.
Agree about locking her up and throwing away the key though..

This piece of vermin must be locked away for a VERY long time.
As far as I am concerned any people involved in child abuse must receive a minimum 30 year sentence.
There is never any excuse no matter what they might say.
