Chinese, Hindi and other non-Latin alphabets were approved for use in web addresses today to make the internet more inclusive.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers made the decision after week-long talks in South Korea.
New domain names could be in use early next year in scripts such as Chinese and Arabic for which demand is high.
