5 Nov 2009

Police are hunting a man who allegedly raped a woman in front of her three-year old son after he lured her into a meeting after they met online.

The woman, 23, had met the man, in his forties, known as Derek, on a number of occasions after they contacted each other online.

On 30 September, the woman, who had her three-year-old son with her, went to drink tea with the man in a block of flats near Sutton town centre after following him from the M2.

He punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious before raping her. When she came to she managed to flee with her son.

The man was driving an old green Land Rover with a canvas roof. The cover of its spare wheel attached to the rear had an eagle design. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sapphire Unit on 020 8721 4128.
