No 10 may give live TV briefings
11 Nov 2009Downing Street today took a step towards having White House-style news briefings on live television.
The Prime Minister's chief spokesman announced a review of media briefings, known as the Downing Street Lobby, which may also lead to ministers, rather than spokesmen, answering questions.
Gordon Brown's spokesman, Simon Lewis, gives briefings twice a day when the Commons is sitting.

come on the television is bad enough without these lot practising grinning at you and telling you lies how can we teach the children to be honest and truthful when they see that lot in front of them on the telly

Political broadcasting by another name.
Time and agian there is a no minister available to go on political programmes on the box. Seems odd they will suddenly be able to find the time to do this.
Must be general election in the offing - cynic!
