Worst storm of year set to batter Britain
13 Nov 2009The weekend will be washed out by the worst storm of the year so far, forecasters warned today.
Weather experts advised those planning Saturday days out to stay indoors as winds of up to 70mph are predicted to batter the country.
The gales will be strong enough to bring down trees, say forecasters. London will be among the areas hit, with gusts of between 30 and 40mph expected.
There could be some let-up in the rain and winds on Sunday but the storm is due to give us another battering on Monday.
Stephen Davenport of MeteoGroup UK said: "It is pretty filthy weather already and it is only going to get worse tomorrow."

so much for hoping for open, flowing, positive rugby from the English against the Argies; they'll be lucky if the bloody ball doesn't end up in Barnes!

yeah right. The only people in Britain whose forecasts are less accurate than the Government's. I shall be packing my bathers and sun block and heading for the coast.
