Three Britons 'killed after cash machine raid'

16 Nov 2009

Three Britons are dead and two are in hospital after their car flipped while being chased by Dutch police, sources confirmed today.

The men, from London and Liverpool, had allegedly blown a cash machine from its position in a wall in the river town of Driel, south east of Arnhem, on Saturday morning.

The five raiders fled the scene with thousands of euros which were covered in anti-theft dye, it was reported.

Police pursued their getaway car which crashed, flipping on the A12 motorway and killing three of them who were reportedly from London and Liverpool.

According to DutchNews.nl, the two survivors were from Liverpool and several thousand euros covered in dye were found in the car with them.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Five British Nationals were involved in a road traffic accident on Saturday morning in the town of Driel, Netherlands.

"We can confirm the death of three British nationals and the hospitalisation of two British nationals.

"The local police are investigating the incident; we are providing consular assistance to those involved."

The reason these people chose a small town in Holland is that no doubt there isn't too much crime here and so the police aren't as prepared as they are in Britain, especially Liverpool. A police force is only as good as it needs to be. They adapt to the societies needs. That is why Merseyside police are one of the most effective in the country and the only police force outside of London to possess Level 1 or 2 (not sure which one) capabilities which means they can tackle international crime.

Liverpool criminals have been carrying out crimes outside of Liverpool for years. Even as far back as the 1940s they were robbing small welsh villages were there was only the local bobby on a bike to deal with. Holland has been a favourite for years, mainly because of the drug trade. You go to Holland and the locals all know scouse.

Serves them damn well right! The other two, if they survive, have no chance of escaping Dutch justice.

William: Not only that but the Dutch Police have guns, why bother when they have it so easy here?

All you need is a tracksuit and a moped to get rich quick in London!

Thanks to the Dutch police.
Sorry to the Dutch people that have had to endure some of our criminal scum.
Lets hope the Dutch courts will pass severe sentences on those that survived.

I shall shed no tears. One wonders though quite why they had to go to Holland to commit the crime, with the attendant risks when they try to cross back into UK.
