The Queen's Speech tomorrow will be used by Labour for political point-scoring rather than sorting Britain's problems, claimed David Cameron.
He said boasts by ministers that the pre-election list of Bills would be "the most political ever" was evidence of Prime Minister Gordon Brown putting the general election ahead of real priorities.
"By all accounts the Queen's Speech will be little more than a Labour press release on palace parchment," said the Tory leader.
He claimed: "Tomorrow we will hear the most divisive, short-termist, shamelessly self-serving Queen's Speech in living memory.
"A country anxious about our economic future...will see a Prime Minister playing politics with the biggest constitutional event of the year."
Labour admits that tomorrow's package of legislation is partly aimed at establishing dividing lines with the Conservatives on policies designed to appeal to young families, such as parental rights and guarantees of NHS treatment.

If Labour have been so good for us over the past 12 or so years, why do they need to promise anything? The results should speak for themselves; worst depression on record, rising unemployment, collapse of banks, uncontrolled immigration, return of incomprehensible strikes on public services, etc.

I think the only shock horror moment in this would be if GB did NOT use it as a party political broadcast in disguise.

Bill Bailey: in that case I need a plot re-cap: what exactly is Lord Mandelson, then?!
'Politician' once a word to describe 'one her plots' - why be surprised by any of them . . .

I am positive the Queen has better things to do with her valuable time, than reading typed lines of depression into a microphone in the House of Conmen.
