A murder inquiry has been launched after a woman was found dying in a west London street from multiple injuries including a severed hand.
The 28-year-old victim, who has not been named, was found slumped in Braund Avenue, Greenford, last night. She later died at Charing Cross Hospital.
Officers believe they know her identity and next of kin have been informed.
Six men — including the woman's estranged husband — were arrested today. The woman, who is Asian, had separated from her husband and the couple were understood to be in the middle of divorce proceedings.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “This was a particularly violent assault.”
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers appealed for witnesses, saying there were a lot of people in the street at the time, some of whom tried to administer first aid. A post mortem examination is due to take place today.
