Murders drove David Haye to boxing success

20.11.09

Boxer David Haye, 29, today revealed that the murders of two cousins spurred him on to become a heavyweight world champion.

The Bermondsey fighter said that Romeo Haye, 19, was shot in the street, two years after Leon, 22, disturbed a burglar and had his throat cut.

Haye says although they died in Jamaica, both grew up in London and he was close to them. "It's definitely made me even more determined to achieve as much as I can as quickly as possible."
