A man has died in hospital and another victim is being treated for gunshot wounds after a shooting at a nightclub.
West Midlands Police said both men were shot at the Tropical Harmony club in Bilston, near Wolverhampton, at about 4.30am on Saturday morning.
A force spokesman said the injuries suffered by the surviving victim were not thought to be life-threatening.
Issuing an appeal for witnesses, the spokesman said a major investigation had been launched into the incident at the High Street club.
The spokesman added: "Two men were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital. One of the men later died.
"It is believed there were around 50 people in the club at the time of the incident, and police are appealing for these people, and anybody else who may have witnessed anything, to come forward."
The shooting comes a year after three people were injured when shots were fired as violence spilled out the nightclub.
Two men, both aged in their 40s, and a 25-year-old woman were taken to hospital following the incident on September 29 last year, but were reported to have escaped serious injuries.
Anybody with information about the latest shooting is urged to call West Midlands Police on 0845 113 5000 or the Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
