'Equality' lessons to protect transsexuals
25.11.09
Children are to be taught not to bully transsexuals as part of a national strategy to tackle domestic violence.
Pupils as young as five will be given lessons in "gender equality" and older children will be taught as part of the national curriculum that it is wrong to hit girls.
Teachers will be given new rules on dealing with "sexist, sexual and transphobic bullying" in the classroom, and trainee staff will have to learn about gender awareness and domestic violence before qualifying, according to the new strategy from the Home Office and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
Lessons on equality and domestic violence will be included in personal, social and health education (PSHE), which will be compulsory to the curriculum by 2011. Vernon Coaker, the Schools Minister, said that the lessons would be age-appropriate.

Gawwwwd.. All the predictable comments, you can virtually list them, I'm sure these stories are published as a "wind-up" so everyone can recite their lines dutifully. "Loony left back!" "Political correctness gone mad!" "Left wing trendies!" "The Tories are no better!" "Madness!" Howl howl howl! It is probably one or two lessons in a general humanities subject. Get over it.

These children' aren't old enough to know whether they will be changing sex at a later date are they? what a load of rubbish.there are enough cranks around already without teaching any more.lets see more of the three Rs.

More idiotic left madness. The emphasis should be on the core subjects like Math, English, Science, History, Geography and so on. 5 year olds have no business learning this pc rubbish. ELECTIONS!

Meanwhile, the erosion of the traditional family unit, has presented us with a society where the local gangleaders are the best available role-models for many teenage boys.

Jesus Christ, how about concentrating on just teaching the basics, English, Maths, etc?
What a load of trendy Lefty rubbish.

Can we have lessons to stop the current government from bullying the electorate into forking out billions to banks, civil service pensions, The Olympics, Trident 2 and ID cards?

I went to Mr. Coaker's school when I was a kid and he was a teacher. I remember his assembly on how he tried to learn an accordian, but I really can't picture him on the stage lecturing us about how not to beat up on transexuals - not at all! It's too wierd to even imagine and would have done more harm than good, in my honest opinion.

For all those who thought that Labour had abandoned the old "loony left" days, here is proof that they haven't, and in fact are worse than ever. Sadly, the Tories seem to be going the same way as well. What madness.

I suggest we integrate this with maths lessons, i.e.
What do you get if you add one transexual , one heamaphrodite, two lesbians and a Half a Norton, then divide the resultant by Danny La Rue - that should REALLY confuse `em!
YOU SHOULD BE TEACHING `EM NOT TO BULLY ANYONE YOU FOOLS.

Troube is though, Ab, that if we teach children 'reading, writing and maths' but fail to also make 'gender equality' a priority, then when they do leave school a certain proportion of them are going to get jobs where they get paid far less than others for doing exactly the same work just because they belong to the *wrong* 50-ish per cent.

oh yes. They'll be taught not to bully transexuals but not how to spell 'transexual'. Oddly, I don't recall transexual bullying being much of an issue when I was in school, but then neither was sexist or racist bullying - any kid who hit a girl would get a pounding from the other boys and such a thing was unthinkable anyway, and there was only one non-white kid in the school and he didn't arrive until the fourth year and he was popular because he was unique. How times have changed and not for the better.

Typical loony left agenda. When we are told that 30% of pupils leave school without a sufficient grasp of reading, writing and maths, how can lessons in gender equality be a priority?
