New chapter for Richard and Judy book club

Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent

The Richard and Judy Book Club that transformed the fortunes of dozens of authors is making a comeback - but with star reviewers such as stylist Gok Wan taking the bickering couple's place on the sofa.

Channel 4 axed the Richard And Judy show, which featured the original book club, two years ago because of falling viewing figures. Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan moved to the digital channel Watch, taking the book club with them, but it closed for good this year.

Now Channel 4 has announced that a new TV Book Club will launch in January, on More4, with repeats on Channel 4 the next day.
