Protest victim's widow calls for inquiry into husband's death

The widow of Ian Tomlinson broke down in tears as she called for a full investigation into her husband's death at a memorial service held in the City.
Julia Tomlinson spoke about her fight for justice at a candlelit vigil held at Royal Exchange, off Threadneedle Street, close to where Mr Tomlinson died eight months ago.
She said the family would never give up until they had answers about the death of her husband.
Mr Tomlinson, 47, died after he was apparently pushed to the ground by a police officer during clashes at the G20 protests.
Mrs Tomlinson was too overcome with emotion to finish her tribute. She said: "This has been a long and emotional eight months for our family.
"Now we have to prepare for our first Christmas without Ian.
"We don't think anyone should have to die like Ian did. He deserved better and now he deserves justice."

It was claimed by the police that de Menezes was wearing bulky clothing, vaulted the barrier and he was alleged to have been a rapist immigrant. All untrue.
The police tried similar smears with the late Mr Tomlinson.
So the families of people who have died in unexplained circumstances then have to hear the cops smear them.

Do I recall that Mr Tomlinson was living in a homeless shelter at the time? And wasn't there a suggestion that he had a bit of a drink problem?
