Boris Johnson breaks affordable housing pledge
3 Dec 2009Boris Johnson's key election pledge to build 50,000 affordable homes in London in his first three years in office will not be delivered, City Hall admitted.
The Mayor's deputy for planning Sir Simon Milton said the target must be pushed to 2012 due to the downturn.
The number of affordable homes started since Mr Johnson's election is 6,500 with 9,080 completions. At that rate the number built by May 2011 would be between 13,000 and 21,000.
Nicky Gavron, Labour's housing spokesman on the assembly, said: "This is yet another broken promise".

So: more lies from a lying politician. And a rich, privileged Tory at that. Not to mention a member of the same club as Cameron. Just remember these lies when it comes to the next election.

Boris is definitely part of the problem, with his insane wish for an ILlegal immigrant amnesty. He either doesn't understand the problem, or he cares less for the British citizens than he does for those coming here ILlegally.
Either way, this makes the housing shortage worse.
Gavron, your party and the Government's deliberate policy of letting all and sundry come here - except perhaps whites from former colonies - with incompetent controls means you should simply keep your mouth shut. Understood?

Boris hasn't delivered anything, just taken a massive salary to promote himself in the same style as Katie Price.
Still the idiots who voted for him are too dumb to realise this.

Recession or not, Boris seems to over promise and under deliver - never an attractive character trait. And, as an example of how council's country wide may operate, looks like it's a return to the dark ages. Doubles all round at Tory central office.

In eighteen months Boris has sacked or had resigned 8 aides (Ken lost one in eight years).
Boris's administration has been mired in racism, theft, sleaze, lies and broken promises. Even his main electoral promise, the scrapping of the WEZ, turned out to be a bare-faced lie. Boris's policies are regressive and making London a far more dangerous place.

"This is another broken promise” says Nicky Gavron.
Hello Nicky there is a recession on, a recession that your national leader helped to create, and who made the famous statement " No more boom & bust "
All this anti politics get us nowhere , and makes you look like the little person that you really are.
