Tony Blair's memoirs to earn him £5 million

Nicholas Cecil, Deputy Political Editor
4 Mar 2010

Tony Blair is set to make up to £5 million from his memoirs.

The former Prime Minister will reveal details of his 10 years at No 10 in The Journey, due out in September.

He said it will describe “the human as much as the political dimensions” of his years leading the country.

Mr Blair will embark on a UK and international tour to promote the book, which will be sold in 12 other countries.

Sources confirmed that he was expected to make up to £5 million.

The memoirs will give a fresh insight into the rows he had with Gordon Brown and reveal more details of his closeness to US president George Bush.

Perhaps he would like to donate the profits to helping Iraqi families bereaved by his little ego war.

i would imagine he'll do the decent thing and give it to the many charities established to aid the many that his conpiraces and machinations have wronged in so many ways.
by the way did you see that squadron of pigs flying by?

The book ought to be called, "Tony Blair - The Lies". It won't have much truth in it, will have been edited and spun quietly by Alistair Campbell no doubt, be all about this legacy of pure fiction he wants us to believe and frankly, the cover is off putting enough to warrant a government health warning. It's one saving grace maybe that it is soft, strong and thoroughly absorbent.

I think it will be available in the "Crime" section, in recognition of the crimes he has committed against this country as leader and in our names with two unwanted wars.

Good-o, even after paying Gordo's top rate of tax on this, he should have enough left over to pay for his own security detail rather than the tax payer having to foot the bill.

Wait a week and they will be in charity shops for a penny each.

One thing is for sure; I won't be buying his book, not even for a penny.

It realy annoys me that MP's make money out of their time in office. What they do in their private life, they should be able to make as much money as they can.As far as their political life is concerned, we put them there, what they say and do is on our behalf, our voice and our actions,if you like.Like their second homes, the profit is ours, put it back in the pot.

I really wish that Mr Blair, apart from apologising for his various horrors, would disappear. But of course his very existence reminds us of the weakness of our system, and how it enables people like him to get into, and abuse, power.

It would probably be very interesting to read IF it contained the truth, but it will be full of lies, so why bother reading even the cover.
