1) There was first in the 1970's the global cooling scam (see e.g. Newsweek April 28 1975 on the Internet); the government-paid scientists (90% of them are rejects of private enterprise) recommended to fight the new ice age by sending our war planes to cover the polar ice with soot in order to increase solar heat and so prevent crushing of New York skyscrapers by the new glaciers;
2) When that did not work we had the global warming hoax in the 1990's, proclaimed by mainly the same government-paid scientists (Dr. Hansen of the NOAA, for example); to prevent the massive heating, fires, flooding of coastal cities, disappearance of Florida, California, and Caribbean islands, massive hurricanes, global famine, and other catastrophic events we should nationalize oil and gas and coal and electricity companies;
3) after 11 years of considerable cooling we are now faced with the climate change flimflam where whatever happens with our climate we should nationalize oil and gas and coal and electricity companies; and why not our banks, car and insurance companies while we are at it. To prevent this catastrophe the best vehicle presumably is international agreements enforced by the United Nations world government.
As for the influence of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas: on a normal day the atmosphere contains 20,000 ppm (parts per million) of water vapor and about 300 ppm of carbon dioxide. The government-paid scientists say that an increase of 100 ppm of CO2 over the next 50 years

This conspiracy against freedom started 40 years ago:

The former Prime minister may lose his climate change job (almost wrote global warming instead of climate change) because the public realizes the real danger is from ManBearPig. I read somewhere that ManBearPig can cross oceans & mountains and is super jealous of climate change as the world’s biggest danger. If this is true we are already dead, Manbearpig leaves no one alive, I'm super cereal

I have now lost all respect for Tony Blair! There was not much left, but now that we can clearly see why he is such a believer in AGW, I am thoroughly disgusted. Pachauri is partnered with this "Khosla Ventures" as well as his "TERI" interests. The alarmists scream about big oil while their saints soak us all with this scam. It is time to drain the swamp!

These CC people could not save a road killed animal in a hundred years. If the gulf oil disaster happened in 1000 feet of water, it would have been plugged in a few days. If it happened in 300 feet, it would take hours. Why can't the "environmentalist" admit that a lot of their stances produced these situations of "unintended consequences". Just like their stance on Nuclear power for the US. France gets 80% of their electricity from nuclear power. We get less than 20%. If the environmentalists in the 70s hadn't blocked our nuclear technology, we wouldn't have so much coal-based energy. The internet today should serve as a bulwark against such opinions that changed public policy then. Keep the government away from the I-net. It is our last chance at FREE speech.

It's all about the money. Anyone who believes in climate change or global warming is an idiot. This has been provened over and over that there is no man-made global warming. Cap and trade is a way to redistribute corporate wealth and make CCE richer and richer. Also, did I say that Obama is linked to the CCE(Chicage Climate Exchange)? He made contributions to the Joyce Foundation who then makes donations to fund the CCE. Nice huh? This is all about power, greed, corruption, and spreading everyone's money around to make them richer and richer. Look it up if you doubt.

I have to agree with Melvyn here, Tony Blair can never be viewed as a failed politician with those wins & majority. Plus he is still winning by bagging this job too & why not?
We must understand politics is never black & white, especially when you’re out of office those contacts & the influence in high places are needed and if someone willing to bankroll you to make speeches & work the room nothing wrong in taking up the role and like everyone else he needs the money too….Good luck to him!

So Blair becomes yet another expert, this time on climate change (do they teach lawyers/dodgy ex prime-ministers that?). The shady sounding outfit he has joined only serves to bring climate change ventures into fresh disrepute-a shame for all the well informed and genuine people who care about the subject. Blair's carbon footprint as he jets here and there on money making errands for his paymasters negates any serious view he may be thought to hold about climate change.

Politicians make me laugh. They want to control situations that they cant control and not to control situations that they can. Climate change cannot be controlled, its always occurred and always will. The very people that they are targeting to reduce Co2 emission's such as cement manufacturers are making considerable sums of money out of trading off Carbon Credits. Why don't politicians and ex politicians concentrate on influencing matters that they can influence such as the banks or the worlds financial situation or indeed world poverty and food shortages.

In other words why cant politicians and ex-politicians do something useful for people other than themselves.

I wonder when politicians will admit how many jobs have been lost through their relentless efforts to the lost cause that is the act of mastering climate change. I wonder how long it will be before Britain does not have an Iron & Steel Industry,Cement Industry etc. Maybe my view is not shared by all but there is a real need to review this abnormal mania that is climate change before we all go stark raving mad!!!!

Robert Marshall - The one thing you cant describe Tony Blair as is "a failed politician" he like Margaret Thatcher won 3 general elections in a row the first of which was with one of the biggest majorities any government received.

The only failed politicians are those who led the parties in the 2010 election which produced a result where everyone was a loser!!!

And while Gordon Brown left with dignity Cameron and Clegg have developed a Kermit and Miss Piggy love in which can only end in tears!!!

Fact is given the 1984 double speak of the present regime the long term winner could actually be Gordon Brown while the rest will become a footnote in history!

Why not make a real name and advance their own personal standing by donating the B.liar money to Cancer Reserach or a shed load of other worthy charities.
The Kuwaitis. JP Morgan and all the other B.Liar sponsors should feel ashamed by their demented generosityand start to wake upand get proper lives.

No question about Mr Blair's credentials around climate (or climate change) - they are just as flakey as Mr Gore's (bar Nobel prize). But he is exceptionally well-placed to lobby for specific technologies. All in all, a good business hire. Not even sure he deserves the blame for cashing in on the 'save the planet' religion... Faithful ones are usually there to be fleeced...
