Stig’s book 'will spoil Christmas for Top Gear fans'
Mark Prigg27 Aug 2010
Top Gear's producer today said that HarperCollins would “ruin Christmas” if it goes ahead with plans to publish the autobiography of the TV show's mystery test driver, the Stig.
The BBC has taken the publisher to court to stop the publication, saying the book — which names the Stig as Formula 3 driver Ben Collins — breaches his contractual and confidentiality obligations, a claim denied by HarperCollins.
In a blog post voicing his opinion, producer Andy Wilman writes: “If you get your Christmas ruined by one of the best and most harmless TV secrets being outed, you can rest easy in the knowledge that HarperCollins' executives will be enjoying a fantastic Christmas.”

I enjoy Top gear, but really it will not "ruin" my Christmas if I know who this guy is. Is there no end to the pathetic TV addicts in our country ?

Willman should realise the licence payer does not want to own the stig, the tardis or the blue peter dog if it is costing us money spend it on a sensible programme not clarkson and his childish overpayed colleagues who ere not interested in ordinary cars,be interesting to see what cars they owned if they had ordinary jobs.

My Christmas is usually ruined by unimaginative and tedious scheduling by the TV companies. Or if I'm really unlucky, a book by Jeremy Clarkson.

Ruined. Yes indeed. Now we know the Stigs name we might as well cancel Christmas, and Kwanza and Divali. It couldn't be more of a disaster if a great big comet was going to hit us on Christmas Eve.
