Director Peter Hall returns to The Old Vic for the first time in 10 years, to bring his critically acclaimed production of Bernard Shaws enduring classic comedy Pygmalion.
Henry Higgins (Tim Pigott-Smith) is the arrogant Professor of Phonetics who makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can turn Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle (Michelle Dockery), into a duchess. Pygmalion formed the basis of the much-loved musical, My Fair Lady, famously filmed with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison and over the years has been filmed as both a play and a musical.
