Carol Vorderman

Carol Vorderman is a television personality and charity patron. She is best known as the co-presenter of the gameshow Countdown, and was involved in the show from 1982 to 2008. Born in 1960, Vorderman first appeared on Countdown at 21 years-old as one of five mathematicians, but eventually her place in the show became increasingly prominent, until she co-hosted alongside Richard Whiteley until his death in 2005. Vorderman stayed on Countdown after Whiteley’s death, co-presenting with Des Lynam in late 2005-2006 and then Des O’Connor in 2007-2008, before stepping down from her post.
