The Daily Telegraph is a daily broadsheet newspaper based in London. Founded in 1855 as the ‘Daily Telegraph and Courier’ by Col. Arthur Sleigh, The Daily Telegraph is currently owned by Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay (known as the Barclay brothers) and is currently the sole national broadsheet-only newspaper remaining in the United Kingdom. As of June 2009, the Telegraph is the nation’s fifth most circulated newspaper after The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, and the Daily Star, making the Telegraph the highest selling ‘quality’ newspaper in the country.
