Paul Robinson is an English professional footballer who is currently the first choice goalkeeper for Blackburn Rovers. He began his career coming through the youth set-up at Leeds United and made his club debut in 1998 against Chelsea FC. He was signed by Tottenham in 2004 for £1.5 million and was the first choice keeper at the club until 2008 when his form started to suffer and he was replaced by Radek Cerny. He signed for Blackburn in July 2008 and slowly began to show the form he had been producing earlier in his career to the extent that at the beginning of the 2009/10 season Sam Allardyce said he should be England’s first choice. His international career took off in 2006 when he was first choice during the World Cup and kept four clean sheets out of five games. However his form suffered after an embarrassing mis-kick against Croatia in October 2006 and he was eventually dropped in 2008.
